Youll be part of a team that guides clients through difficult decisions with empathy and ensures a fear-free environment for pets.

The location offers the best of both worlds: set near the stunning Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park, with easy access to the M6 and mainline trains, and just a short drive to Kendal or Lancaster.

Full Idexx laboratory
Digital radiography
ECG and capnography
Sterile theatre

Person Specification
This role suits either an experienced Veterinary Surgeon or a new graduate keen to develop their skills. Full-time and part-time options are available, with tailored support based on your experience. A strong interest in medicine is advantageous, and you’ll receive guidance to strengthen your surgical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Operate practice management systems and assist with scheduling.
Conduct thorough consultations, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans.
Perform routine surgical procedures and manage inpatients with care.
Handle emergencies and confidently manage euthanasia with compassion.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, building lasting relationships.
Maintain clinical records, comply with health and safety regulations, and adhere to practice policies.
Required Skills & Experience

RCVS registration
Experience in first-opinion small animal practice
Friendly, caring, and approachable
Strong communication and team-working skills
Committed to professional development and lifelong learning
Work Hours & Benefits

Weekdays: 9 am – 6 pm
Occasional Saturday mornings
No out-of-hours (OOH)
Salary DOE: £45,000 (2 years post-grad) to £75,000 (experienced clinical director)
