Permanent RVN Position – SW London
An independent small animal practice in SW London is seeking a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) for a full-time role.
Position Overview:
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexible hours available for candidates seeking fewer than 40 hours per week.
Role: Surgery and medical nursing with some nurse consultations. Duties include maintaining a clean, hygienic practice environment.
Qualifications: Ideal candidate is a UK RVN, though qualified veterinary nurses planning to complete their OSCEs are encouraged to apply.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary: £30,000 FTE for candidates with one year of experience negotiable for additional experience. New graduates considered at an entry-level rate based on experience.
Leave: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), CPD allowance.
Optional: Participation in the weekend rota (1 Saturday/month, 9 AM – 1:30 PM) with extra pay or time in lieu.
About the Practice:
A small, supportive team of three vets, two RVNs (this role would make three), one SQP, and three VCAs. The clinic is fully equipped with MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound. Occasional exotic pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets) are seen, but exotic experience is not essential.
Typical Day:
One vet consults, while the other manages a mix of consults and surgeries. Daily, the team handles three to four surgeries/procedures, with RVNs managing surgical and medical patients alongside dedicated support staff.
