My client, a respected independent veterinary practice, is seeking a confident and compassionate vet with a keen interest in surgery to join their close-knit team from July. This is a rare opportunity to work in one of the last independently owned practices in the region—where team wellbeing, clinical freedom, and personalised care are at the heart of everything they do.
The Role at a Glance:
4-day week with 3 dedicated surgical days
Only 1 in 4 Saturdays, 9am–12pm
No Sundays, Bank Holidays, or Out of Hours
20-minute consultations
Starting salary of £50,000 with room to grow
Generous CPD budget and full encouragement to pursue areas of interest
Structured daily schedule with protected admin time, proper lunch breaks, and morning/evening team catch-ups built into the diary

The Ideal Candidate:
Strong interest or experience in surgery
Enjoys mentoring and supporting the development of others
Values long-term client and patient relationships
Brings emotional intelligence, clear communication, and clinical confidence
Comfortable discussing treatment plans and pricing with clarity and empathy
Open to personal and professional growth through feedback and reflection
Interested in progressing into a leadership role (if desired)
What You’ll Be Joining:
A team of 5 vets (3.5 FTE) with special interests in internal medicine, surgery, ultrasound, behaviour, exotic and emergency care
5 RVNs with individual strengths including behaviour and diabetes, all fully utilised and empowered
3 exceptional ANAs ensuring smooth, efficient workflow behind the scenes
A proactive, intuitive reception team that understands the needs of both clients and colleagues
A supportive Practice Manager who prioritises people as much as process
Regular behaviour consults and collaboration with visiting orthopaedic specialists
Separate cat/rabbit and dog wards to minimise patient stress
Bi-monthly 1:1s to ensure your voice is always heard
