Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Mid-Devon (Independent Practice)

A well-established, independent veterinary practice in rural Mid-Devon is looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a recently refurbished practice, equipped with modern facilities and a dedicated clinical team.
About the Practice:
Operating across two sites in Mid-Devon, this independent mixed practice takes pride in providing a personal and high-quality service to the local community. The team benefits from visiting specialists and offers full access to modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab (Idexx & Axiom), and multi-parameter monitoring.
The Role:
This role is ideal for a vet with a minimum of 1 year’s experience looking to expand their skills in a supportive environment. You’ll work in a first-opinion capacity, managing a varied caseload of consultations, diagnostics, and routine surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct 15-minute consultations (with longer slots for complex cases)
Provide preventative health care and client education
Perform diagnostics and medical workups
Carry out routine and emergency surgeries
Maintain accurate, thorough clinical records
Collaborate with a close-knit team of vets, RVNs, and support staff
Engage in CPD and stay current with veterinary advancements
What We’re Looking For:
MRCVS registered with the right to work in the UK
At least 1 year of experience in small animal practice
Strong clinical and communication skills
Compassionate, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Keen to contribute ideas and grow with the practice
