Are you a confident small animal vet looking to join a close-knit, supportive team in a modern, independent setting?

This well-established, independent mixed practice in rural Mid-Devon is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and collaborative team. Based at their recently refurbished surgery, you’ll be supported by experienced vets, RVNs, ANAs, and receptionists while enjoying a varied caseload, excellent facilities, and true clinical autonomy.

About the Practice:

Independent, mixed practice with a strong focus on community and personal care

Two well-equipped branches in rural Mid-Devon

Digital x-ray, ultrasound, Idexx and Axiom in-house lab, multi-parameter monitoring, and more

Access to visiting specialists and support with complex cases

The Role:
You’ll be providing first opinion care for small animal patients, managing your own medical and surgical cases with 15-minute consults as standard (with extended time for more complex appointments or euthanasia). Theres a healthy mix of consults, diagnostics, and surgery, with the time and support to provide high-quality, client-focused care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough clinical examinations and diagnostics

Develop and deliver treatment plans tailored to each patient

Carry out routine and emergency surgery

Build strong client relationships through clear, compassionate communication

Maintain accurate clinical notes and patient records

Engage in ongoing CPD and support the development of clinical services

Person Specification:

MRCVS with the right to work in the UK

Minimum 1 year of experience in small animal practice

Confident communicator with both clients and colleagues

Compassionate, team-oriented, and motivated by high standards of care

Able to work independently when required

Interest in developing a clinical niche or specialism welcomed
