A well-respected independent veterinary practice in rural Mid-Devon is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly, supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN seeking variety, responsibility, and the chance to truly be part of a close-knit clinical environment.

The Practice:
Operating across two sites, this independent mixed animal practice offers a first-opinion service supported by visiting specialists and surgeons. Facilities include digital x-ray, ultrasound, full in-house lab (Idexx & Axiom), and multi-parameter monitoring.

The Role:
The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team to provide top-level care to patients and clients alike. The role includes supporting vets during consults and procedures, theatre and anaesthesia work, in-house diagnostics, and general nursing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Support veterinary surgeons in consults, surgery, and house visits

Administer anaesthesia and maintain patient monitoring

Perform in-house lab work (biochemistry, haematology, urinalysis, cytology)

Maintain clinical hygiene and manage surgical equipment

Deliver excellent pre- and post-op patient care

Contribute to stock control and H&S compliance

Support junior staff and student nurse training

Occasionally assist reception/admin teams when needed

What We’re Looking For:

RCVS-registered RVN

Ideally experienced and confident working independently (newly qualified RVNs also considered)

Self-motivated, empathetic, and proactive

Effective team player and communicator

Flexible to support rota or occasional cover when required

Full UK driving licence and own vehicle

What’s on Offer:

Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

Up to 1 in 3 Saturdays (9 AM – 6 PM) on rota – no OOHs

Hours between 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM, flexible to suit the right candidate
