The Practice & Facilities
Our client is a well-equipped small animal practice with a strong clinical ethos and a high standard of patient care. Facilities include state-of-the-art ultrasound, endoscopy, capnography, digital X-ray, in-house Idexx blood and urine analysers, and Zoetis Imagyst.
The practice is supported by an excellent nursing team comprising five qualified veterinary nurses and one in-house trainee. As a nurse training practice, clinical standards and team development are a key focus.
The practice works closely with external referral services in the following areas:
Orthopaedics
Cardiology (heart scans)
Advanced ultrasound
Role & Responsibilities
This role would suit a confident Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who is happy to take on the position of Primary Operating Vet while also consulting with clients. The position offers a good balance between surgery and consultations within a supportive, well-resourced environment.
Rota & Working Pattern
Paid rota of 4 × 10-hour weekday shifts
1 in 4 Saturdays, 9:00am – 1:00pm (Saturdays paid in addition)
Typically only one late finish per week (9:00am – 7:00pm)
A late finish on Friday applies when working the Saturday
Salary & Benefits
Salary of £65,000 per annum if residing in a self-contained flat at the client’s Broxbourne surgery
£70,000 per annum if not taking the accommodation
Accommodation includes all bills, including Wi-Fi
£1,500 CPD allowance per annum
Up to 5 days CPD leave
RCVS fees paid
Holiday Entitlement
6.6 weeks’ holiday based on weekly hours worked, inclusive of Bank Holidays
An additional day off for your birthday
