Clinical Head Nurse – Small Animal
Location: Swindon | Salary: Up to £38,000

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Head Nurse to join a well-established, independent veterinary group in Swindon. Operating from three sites, including a new gold-standard cat-only clinic, this practice provides high-quality, in-house care with minimal need for referrals. With a team of 38 staff, including 17 nurses, this is an opportunity to lead a supportive, professional, and teaching-focused environment.

The Role
As Clinical Head Nurse, you will:
Lead clinical management across all sites, including the development of clinical protocols.
Work alongside senior vets to maintain high clinical standards.
Supervise and induct all clinical staff, supporting their professional development.
Collaborate with the clinic and practice managers on HR, recruitment, and team management.
Cover all areas of RCVS standard requirements and act as a clinical coach to the team.

About You
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing, preferably with leadership responsibilities.
RVN qualified, ideally with RPA, RLA, and experience as a clinical coach.
Further qualifications in leadership and management are desirable.
Organised, efficient, and passionate about animal welfare.
Motivational, compassionate, and a strong communicator with a team-first approach.
