Location: Oxfordshire (main hospital & branch sites)
Contract: Permanent, full or flexible working patterns considered
Hours: 4 days per week (8:00 am – 6:30 pm) – alternative patterns possible
Out-of-hours: 1:10 full weekend day shifts + occasional Saturday morning consults
Time off: Monday morning off after a full weekend full day off after occasional night shift

About the Role
As a Small Animal Vet with this Oxfordshire practice, you will be based primarily at the main hospital, with some sole charge at branch sites. You’ll enjoy a varied caseload, including consults, surgery, hospital cases, and ambulatory work, all supported by skilled nursing and reception teams.
Consultations are 15 minutes, with extra time for complex cases, supported by a dedicated SA Coordinator
Sustainable rotas ensure once your shift ends, you hand over to a dedicated in-house night team caring for inpatients and emergencies
Clinical freedom is encouraged – you can formulate and implement your own plans while following best-practice protocols
Opportunities to expand your surgical and medical experience, pursue special interests, and receive internal mentoring.
Support for professional development, including certificate holders and those wishing to pursue certificates

Experienced Small Animal Vets, including Senior/Director level
Highly skilled Registered Veterinary Nurses, Students, and Assistants
Fully staffed in-house laboratory, dedicated pharmacy and dispensary team
The nursing team play key roles within the hospital, with training and development prioritised. The reception team are fully trained to answer questions, provide reassurance, and offer a professional, friendly client experience.
About You
We’re looking for a confident, all-round Small Animal Vet who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys a varied caseload. You will:
Be a team player and ambassador for the practice
Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar SA role
Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car (rural practice setting)
Demonstrate a collaborative attitude and high clinical aspirations
Have a genuine passion for animal care, rural life, and client relationships
