Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent veterinary hospital in Rugby as part of the day clinical team.
This role offers the chance to work within a high-level, well-equipped clinical environment while helping shape clinical standards, protocols, and the long-term direction of the practice.
We are seeking forward-thinking vets who are confident in general practice and ECC, and who are interested in contributing to a progressive, collaborative clinical team.
About the Practice
This is a modern independent veterinary hospital focused on delivering high clinical standards alongside strong team wellbeing and sustainable working practices.
The hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and an in-house laboratory.
The practice is designed to support a varied and challenging caseload, with strong infrastructure to enable high-quality clinical decision-making and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
Management of medical and surgical cases within a busy day caseload
Delivery of high-quality general practice and ECC support as required
Contribution to clinical protocols, standards, and service development
Collaboration with veterinary and nursing teams to maintain excellent patient care
Support and mentorship of junior colleagues where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
Strong foundation in general practice with ECC experience
Confident managing medical and surgical cases independently
Postgraduate certificate holder, currently working towards one, or keen to pursue further study
Commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Interest in contributing to clinical development and leadership within the practice
