Veterinary Surgeon – Barnsley

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, customer-focused Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in surgery to join a modern, well-equipped small animal practice in Barnsley.

This role would suit a vet who is confident in general practice, enjoys a varied caseload, and is committed to delivering high standards of clinical care alongside excellent client communication. A collaborative, team-oriented approach is essential.

The Role

Delivering preventative healthcare and routine consultations
Diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical cases
Supporting a varied surgical caseload with scope to develop further interests
Promoting pet wellbeing through proactive client education
Working closely with a supportive clinical and non-clinical team

The Practice
The practice is purpose-built and well equipped, with a strong emphasis on clinical development and team support. It has a friendly, community-focused ethos with active local engagement through events, fundraising, and educational initiatives.

The clinical team includes 3 Veterinary Surgeons and 4 RVNs, with a collaborative approach to case management and a strong culture of learning. There is ongoing support for CPD and development of clinical interests, including imaging and exotics.

Salary & Hours

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 DOE
Hours: 39 hours per week
1 in 4 weekends
