My client, a large and highly reputable independent veterinary group in beautiful rural Oxfordshire, is looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their thriving hospital and branch network.

This is an exciting opportunity for a vet with at least 3 years’ UK small animal experience who enjoys variety, values clinical freedom, and wants to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team.

The Role
Primarily hospital-based with some branch work
Mix of consults, surgery, hospital and ambulatory work
4-day week (8:00am – 6:30pm)
Alternative working patterns considered for the right person
15-minute consults with support for complex cases and admin time
Dedicated in-house night team – no inpatient responsibility overnight
Fair and sustainable rota designed to support work-life balance

OOH commitment currently includes:
1:10 weekend day rota
Occasional Saturday morning consults
Time off in lieu following weekends and night shifts

The Practice
This is a thriving, genuinely independent practice with an exceptional reputation and a loyal client base, offering a varied caseload and excellent clinical exposure.

You will be joining a highly experienced and well-supported team including:
19 Small Animal Vets (including senior and director-level clinicians)
17 RVNs plus student nurses and support staff
Fully staffed in-house laboratory
Dedicated pharmacy and dispensary teams

About You
RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar small animal role
UK driving licence and own transport (rural location)
Team player with strong clinical standards
Passionate about high-quality patient care and continuous development
